The story

This long dress was made in the 1970s from a deep emerald jersey that falls straight to the floor. At the neckline a single wide flounce of the same fabric forms soft sleeves over the shoulders, so the arms seem to float. There is no zip and no button; it slips over the head and follows the body without holding it. The jersey is heavy enough to hang well and cool against the skin. It is a dress for long evenings outdoors. Wear it barefoot on a summer terrace, or with gold sandals and a low knot of hair.

Very good: light signs of age, each one named in the details and shown in the photos.
Good: visible wear or an old repair, named and photographed; still ready to wear or use.
Fair: clear flaws or a repair it needs, named and photographed; chosen for its beauty or its history.
