Summer sandals from the middle of the 1970s, when everyone wanted to be taller and still walk all day. The wedge is wrapped in natural jute rope, coiled around a light core, and the upper is a wide band of tan suede with a slim ankle strap and a brass buckle. The suede is soft and velvety, and the rope gives a little underfoot. They sit high but feel steady. Wear them with a long cotton dress, or with white jeans rolled at the ankle, anywhere near the sea.

How we measure
Shoes are measured inside: the insole from heel to toe and across the widest point, and the heel at the back. Old sizes run differently, so the insole length is the best guide.
The condition scale
Excellent: worn or used with care; no flaws we can see.
Very good: light signs of age, each one named in the details and shown in the photos.
Good: visible wear or an old repair, named and photographed; still ready to wear or use.
Fair: clear flaws or a repair it needs, named and photographed; chosen for its beauty or its history.
