The story

Cut on the bias in the 1930s, when a dress was meant to follow the body like water. The satin is a warm champagne, the color of candlelight on paper. Because the fabric runs on the diagonal, it drapes into long soft folds and moves with every step. The straps are fine as thread, turned and stitched by hand, and the neckline falls in a gentle cowl. It feels cool when you first put it on and then warms to you. Wear it to a summer wedding with a small cardigan over the shoulders, or keep it as the loveliest nightgown you have ever owned.

Very good: light signs of age, each one named in the details and shown in the photos.
Good: visible wear or an old repair, named and photographed; still ready to wear or use.
Fair: clear flaws or a repair it needs, named and photographed; chosen for its beauty or its history.
