A soft blouse from the late 1940s in cream rayon crepe. What makes it is the collar: two layers of rose-pink crepe cut in deep scallops, each edge picked out with a thin black stitch, lying flat like petals on the shoulders. The cuffs repeat it with a small pink ruffle. Everything else is plain, so the eye goes where the maker wanted it to. The crepe feels cool and dry and falls away from the body. Wear it with a navy skirt, or tucked into wide trousers with the sleeves pushed up.
